Introudction of Full Bore Retrievable Packer
The Full Bore Retrievable Packers is also named Halliburton RTTS packer, that is a full-opening, hookwall packer used for well testing job, treating operation, and squeeze cementing operations. Normally, the RTTS packer is run in the hole with a circulating valve assembly.
The RTTS packer is the mechanical setting packer, the main body of the RTTS packer includes a J-slot mechanism, hydraulic slips, mechanical slips, and packer elements. The RTTS packer is with large, heavy-duty slips in the hydraulic hold down mechanism, wich can help prevent the tool from being pumped up the hole. Drag springs operate the J-slot mechanism on ≤ 3 1/2-in. (88.9-mm) packer bodies, while larger packer sizes ≥ 4-in. (101.6 mm) use drag blocks. Automatic J-slot sleeves are standard equipment on all packer bodies.
The full bore design of the RTTS packer allows unrestricted fluid flow and tool movement through the tubing bore, and this design permits pumping large volumes of fluid with a minimum pressure drop, and allows the passage of a through tubing type perforating gun.
